Members of Dire Straits come to Prague to perform their best hits as The Straits in March 2012!

Prague, Nov 30, 2011 – Following their amazing debut show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Alan Clark, Chris White and Phil Palmer from Dire Straits have come back together as The Straits, performing the Dire Straits catalogue of hits such as ‘Money for Nothing’ and ‘Sultans of Swing’. The Straits will perform in Prague’s KC Vltavská on March 14, 2012 during their international tour.

Three former members of the legendary British rock band that rocked the 1980s got together again as The Straits to perform the best hits of Dire Straits. The original Dire Straits were active between 1977 and 1995 and were known for contrasting the dominating punk-rock era with their less dramatic repertoire and emphatic pub-rock. They became one of the world’s most commercially successful bands, selling over 120 millions of albums worldwide. The band is a bearer of four Grammys, three BRIT awards, two MTV video music awards and many other prizes. Now their former members got together due to the fans’ substantial demand to hear Dire Straits’ much loved catalogue of great songs. The Straits are: Alan, Chris and Phil from the Dire Straits, and Terence Reis, Steve Ferrone, Mick Feat and Jamie Squire.

“It is a great honour to welcome here for the first time The Straits, whose compositions, together with the Knopfler brothers, made this band rewrite the history in 1980s Europe. Dire Straits were a symbol and they had a deep meaning for many people here in the Czech Republic, and now we are proud to bring their members here to perform the best hits, such as Money for Nothing, Sultans of Swing or Brothers in Arms,” said one of the Fource Entertainment’s representatives.
